We offer presentations for Secondary 4 and 5 in which students will have the opportunity to learn about the concept of social business and get inspiration to create new social businesses. They will have the chance to learn about the entrepreneurial model created by Mr.Muhammad Yunus -pioneer of microcredit and social businesses in Bangladesh- for which he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006.
There are many social business examples in Bangladesh. Among them Grameen Danone offers poor families a fortified yoghurt which includes nutrients are the ones who are missing in children’s diets for a price that parents can afford. Grammen Shakti is a company whose mission is to provide access to electricity in rural areas by means of solar panels. Both are successful social enterprises which change many people’s lives on a daily basis.
That is why we believe it’s very important to open student’s minds to this alternative model using entrepreneurship to create a social positive impact and make a difference.
If you need more information, we will be delighted to speak to you!
